Mountain Bikes and Road bikes!
Bike sales and rental companies will have bikes for you to buy, rent or demo.
The Cataraqui Trail is accessible from Chaffey's Lock, and there are many mountain bike trails, including the Simmons' Single Track with it's entrance at the Expo's parking area. The many back roads that go over bridges and past lakes are perfect for road biking as well. We are right at the start of the Canadian Shield at Chaffey's, so you can go one way and have flat road biking, or the other direction with lots of hills and turns in the road.
Hiking and Cross-country Skiing
Outdoor outfitters will be on available to show you their wares.
The Cataraqui Trail and Simmons' bike path/ski trail are also accessible directly from the Expo venue!
The Rideau Trail is just down the road for another 349 km of rugged hiking and mountain biking
Camping and Fishing and Outdoor Survival Skills
Stay outside in the wilderness and where the best fishing spots are!
The lakes at and around Chaffey's Lock are great for camping and are swimming with Bass, Northern Pike and many other desirable fish species.
